Gina Louthian-Stanley, Roanoke, "Earth #4, Water," 2nd place for mixed media;
Robin Poteet, Salem, "Snow Shower," 2nd place for watercolor.
Martha Rhodes, Roanoke, "Glorious Magnolias", honorable mention for watercolor.

Member artist and watercolorist Myrtle Hooker has had a piece selected for the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibit. Only 80 pieces were chosen so congratulations go out to Myrtle!

"Walking with Grandma" by member artist J. Gail Geer will be on display at the WVTF juried show July 1 – 31. OPEN HOUSE: Friday, July 16, 2010 Time: 5-9 PM. Proceeds will support WVTF Public Radio and RADIO IQ.

Member artist J. Gail Geer is one of ten recipients of the Arts Council’s “Grants for Artists” program. She will use the award to study mold making. Plans call for a gallery exhibit and talk by the artist about her experience in May, 2011.
The Grants for Artists program is supported by the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, and by local individuals.

Once again, Gallery 108 has been voted "Best Art Gallery" by readers of the City Magazine in their annual poll. Over 12,000 votes were cast in all categories. Thanks to everyone who voted for us.
We also made the list of "Best Places to see Unique or Underground Art". And, congratulations to John Reburn, voted "Most Humorous Roanoker". Keep 'em laughing John!

On the first Thursday of each month, the galleries of Roanoke sponsor a Gallery Walk from 5 - 9 pm. Come check out the exhibits, meet the artists and enjoy some music and light refreshments. Free limosine service is provided for transportation between galleries. A map and more information is available at www.roanokeartbynight.com
